COVID-19: Tema Central MP donates 3 months salary to needy and aged in his constituency

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tema Central Constituency, Hon. Kofi Brako, popularly known as KB, has donated his 3 Months salary to the needy and aged in his constituency to help them cope with the lockdown that has been announced by government following the outbreak of COVID-19.

That aside, the MP has also provided the constituents with hand sanitizers and other basic sanitary facilities to help them quell the spread of the virus.

A press release issued by the MP and sighted by BestNewsGH.com read in part that ‘’Believing in the President’s measures and directives in this dark period of the nation, I humbly and respectfully pledge and commit the next three months of my salary to help the affected aged, needy and vulnerable in the Tema Central  Constituency, due to restrictions by the President to combat COVID-19.’’

Spokesperson to the MP, Ian Quaye in an interview on Accra based Oman Fm posited that the Hon. Kofi Brako is also providing other necessities such as bags of rice, cartons of fish, crates of eggs water among others to the constituents.

He added that the MP was providing the various markets and lorry stations in the constituency with sanitary facilities including veronica buckets and others.

‘’The Hon. Kofi Brako has made it clear that he is even willing to go beyond the 3 months and will donate his 6 months salary if it becomes necessary, just to ensure that the constituents are fine’’ he said.
