COVID-19: Ghana mission to UN seek info on Ghanaians dead in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut

The Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations and the Consulate-General of Ghana is seeking information on Ghanaians who may have died from the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

The Mission says it is making frantic efforts to track the welfare of the Ghanaian Community in the wake of the scourge of the pandemic.

A statement issued by the Mission and signed by the Information Officer, Frederick Ameyaw and sighted by BestNewsGH.com read in part that  “any Ghanaian living in the Tri-State area who has lost a relative or has a knowledge of a Ghanaian who has succumbed to the coronavirus disease should duly notify the Consul-General or the Information Officer of the Ghana Mission.”

Reports have it that there have been at least some 195, 000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the State of New York, while New York City has more that 104, 000 confirmed cases.

The State accounts for some 10,000 deaths from the Virus, representing some 34% of all confirmed cases in the United States of America.
