Scores of entrepreneurs have indicated their interest in producing hand sanitizers locally and have applied to the McDan Foundation for financial support.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley and his team have been meeting these entrepreneurs who are interested in producing hand sanitizers, using local raw materials.
The move comes barely 48 hours after the Business Magnate announced funding for the mass production of hand sanitizers in the country, as his contribution to the fight against the deadly CoronaVirus COVID-19.
The move also falls in line with his vision to help build local businesses in the country.
Dr. McKorley who is also the Founder and Chairman of the McDan Foundation, together with his team of experts, screened the various proposals submitted by the several entrepreneurs who indicated interest to produce hand sanitizers locally, using local gin, Akpeteshie.
Dr. McKorley who described the move as an emergency decision and a timely intervention to help bridge the deficit of artificial shortage created in the system due the outbreak of Covid-19, said the Food and Drugs Authority has been roped in to test samples for regulatory compliance purposes.
BestNewsGH.com reports him as positing that “Once approved, funding will be made available to the potential business idea for production. This initiative will not only empower our local businesses, but also create jobs for the teeming youth”
It is Dr. McKorley’s expectation that those that will be selected eventually and supported with funding, will produce not only for the Ghanaian market, but for export to other markets within the African continent.
