Necessity they say is the mother of invention.

That is exactly the case with a determined couple who did not want to postpone their planned wedding due to the locdown imposed on the country, following the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

The Nigerian couple decided to leverage on technology, by using Zoom, via which they held their wedding online, attended by some 45 persons across the world.

BestNewsGH.com can report that the couple got a lot of positive feedback on social media after the online wedding which can perhaps be described as the first Zoom wedding.

The groom’s younger sister who goes by the name @KiyaniBba on twitter, made the disclosure and wrote:

‘Today was my big bro’s wedding. Because of the virus, only the bride, groom and their witnesses were allowed in the room. As the official CTO of my family, I suggested that we set up a Zoom so that our relatives and friends could join us. I present you the first Zoom Wedding.

We had more than 45 people from France, CIV, Netherlands, SA, Calgary, etc. I muted everyone during the ceremony and recorded everything using zoom. People cried during the vows, at the end I unmuted them and all at the same time they applauded and congratulated the newlyweds’
