Today, I officially commissioned a Ministerial Committee on the Movie Industry & Creatives (Kumawood) to drive the growth and transformation of Ghana’s film and creative arts sector.
The committee has been tasked with:
Assessing the current state of the industry and identifying key challenges.
Developing policies to attract investment and ensure sustainable growth.
Exploring strategies to promote Ghanaian films both locally and internationally.
Strengthening film infrastructure by improving production facilities and training opportunities.
Enhancing film festivals and cultural showcases to celebrate Ghanaian storytelling and creativity.
Fostering collaboration between stakeholders to create more opportunities for filmmakers, actors, and creatives.
I urged the committee members to carry out their mandate with dedication, commitment, and a strong sense of unity to ensure that Kumawood and the entire creative industry reach new heights. Together, we will build a globally competitive film industry that tells the rich stories of Asanteman and Ghana!
