Caring for the aged: Oye Lithur urges MP’s to support the aged in their constituencies

Former Minister for Gender, children and social protection in the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration, Nana Oye Lithur is pushing for special initiatives from Members of Parliament to cater for the needs of the aged in the respective constituencies.

The Minister who was reacting to the construction of the AYA community centre by the former energy minister and Member of Parliament for Ellembele, Kofi Armah Buah for the aged in the Ellembele constituency in the Nzema East area of the Western Region said the facility has so far catered for some 49 thousand elderly people over the past 3 years.

‘’It is my wish that other Members of Parliament will support the aged in their respective constituencies’’ she said.

She added that it was imperative to show love, care and support for the most vulnerable persons in the various communities across the country, adding that ‘’this is really Ghanaian’’
