The Auditor-General, Daniel Domelevo is due to present a report at the ongoing General Assembly of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), BestNewsGH.com can confirm.
Mr. Domelevo and his team are presenting the report at the Assembly as External Auditors for the IMO.
The 31st session of the IMO Assembly is currently underway at the IMO Headquarters in London and runs from the 25th November through to 4th December 2019.
Announcing his presence at the General Assembly on his Facebook Page, the Auditor General who posed with Ghana’s Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson wrote ‘’Met Cardinal Turkson at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) annual conference. Ghana is represented by three groups:- the Minister of Transport and his team ; the Auditor-General and his team- we are presenting our audit report as the External Auditors of IMO; and the Cardinal and his team representing the Holy See or The Pope’’
The Assembly encapsulate the ordinary and special sessions of the General Assembly.
The IMO Assembly, the Organization’s highest governing body, meets every two years. It is responsible for approving the Organization’s work programme and budget for the next two years and electing the 40-Member Council, as well as considering substantive issues emanating from the Organization’s Council and five Committees. The Assembly is expected to confirm the appointment of IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim for a second four-year term in office.
