President of the Millennium Excellence Foundation, organisers of the Millennium Excellence awards has taken a dig at state agencies responsible for educating and advocating for proper hygiene and sanitation, accusing them of being laxed in their approach to duty.

Mr. Ashim Morton says it is unacceptable for Ghanaians some of who queue to attend to nature’s call to use newspaper after emptying their bowels.

He took time off to visit a public toilet in Accra to have a first hand experience and wrote on his Facebook Page:

‘’Somewhere in Accra, for the masses who use public toilets, this is their toilet paper; half a sheet of newspaper and it costs 10 cents or gh0.50 pesewas. It’s not funny anymore. We are in 2019. Which agency is responsible to educate and advocate. Capacity development. By popular requests….. seeing is believing. Here’s the evidence’’.
