An inimitable gentleman bows out-Tribute to Dr. Alex Ire by Kasise Ricky Peprah

AN INIMTABLE GENTLEMAN BOWS OUT!!!

I will not allow Covid 19 to drown you out

I cannot ever forget how you have always stood stout

Many use the word “gentleman” loosely

With you that word is but meagre

From our days on the hill, when you were studying the science of curing people and I the science of “conning” people, to our days in Tamale when you remained  a soothing brother and I a painful bother, and all the days in between,

Dr. ALEX IRE, you have stood taller than giants and been louder in your example than charlatans.

None who knew you could ever in you find a flaw and when news reached me that you were taken ill, I knew it was just going to be that, an illness, most probably fatigue, from working unrelentingly at your profession, no, vocation.

You are resting with our Father in heaven now and rather sadly many of your friends will not be able to come bid you farewell.

I will not daresay you have ran your race for there was a lot more love and sacrifice in you and certainly more dedication.

If one could begrudge the Father in heaven, now would be a good enough occasion but alas we are but vessels in His hands.

Rest in peace Doctor ALEX IRE

Till we meet again.
