President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been confessing the two most painful decisions he has ever been confronted with as president BestNewsGH.com can report.
According to him, he was left with no option but to take those decisions, a move he wished was avoidable.
President Akufo-Addo who was speaking during a retreat for public sector Chief Executive Officers, Director-Generals, Executive Secretaries and Board Chairmen in the Central Region recently, named the dismissal of former Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko and the recent sacking of the Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Emmanuel Sinyet Asigri as the two most painful decisions he has had to take as president.
An emotionally charged President Akufo-Addo told the gathering he was pained by the fact that the two gentlemen were some of his most loyal appointees who have been with him through thick and thin even when the ruling New Patriotic Party was in opposition.
He cautioned all government appointees to be mindful of their actions and revert to their respective boards when they encounter challenges in the discharge of their duties.
The president warned that he will not shield any appointee who finds him or herself in situations that are contrary to laid down procedures in the public sector.
