Rabiatu Wesoamu Abdallah, winner of the Miss Galaxy Ghana 2019 takes a remarkable initiative of contributing her bit, encouraging her fans to stay alive, stay safe and stay at home by giving out cash and other food items to her friends and neighbors who needed help.

She started by sharing food items to her neighbors and then proceeded to post on her Instagram page asking her followers to nominate and tag individuals that were in need of money to support themselves during the pandemic.

Rabiatu Wesoamu Abdallah, mentioned that her team would select the beneficiaries of the money based on merit and that people who are not on Instagram could be nominated.

The post got a lot of comments with people nominating themselves and tagging their friends as well. Money was sent to selected beneficiaries via mobile money almost immediately and these lucky beneficiaries acknowledged receipt of the money in her comment section on Instagram.

Rabiatu tells BestNewsGH.com in an interview that “I realized a lot of people are struggling to get basic things but can’t openly ask their friends. Although some are able to ask others, they need a little signal to make a move. So I did some donations of foodstuff in my neighborhood and decided to do the Momo for some others who couldn’t easily get the help. Thankfully I was able to get a good number to help”.

In an interaction with one of the beneficiaries of her kind gesture, Etornam joyfully said “I have never met Rabi before and I’m not even following her on Instagram but I was nominated by a friend and I received the money in my mobile money account with tears of joy. I’m grateful to Rabiatu and her team and God will bless them”

Rabiatu Wesoamu urged everyone to stay home, stay safe, help those in need and spread calm and not fear as we stay strong together through these hard times of COVID-19

Rabiatu Wesoamu Abdallah is a COVIDHERO.
