President John Dramani Mahama has axed Anne Sansa Daly from the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), just a few days after her appointment.
A letter, signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President and dated 23rd May 2025, did not give any reason for the decision to revoke her appointment.
BestNewsGH.com sources reveal it may bother on whether Ms. Sansa Daly really possessed the requisite qualifications, particularly pertaining to her work as a Medical Doctor. Ms. Daly is a host of a Health Programme on local TV station GHOne and has recently come under attack, with sections of the public questioning her academic credentials.
One Mr. Sekyi-Brown Reginald on his own volition, wrote to the prestigious Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to ascertain if indeed Ms. Daly had attended that school, as she claimed. The response from the school was that they were unable to locate any record under the name of Anne Sansa Daly. Mr. Sekyi-Brown shared his letter to the school and the school’s response on his Facebook Page, confirming the widespread suspicion that Ms. Daly may have faked her academic credentials.
In her place, the President has nominated Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke.
The letter was addressed to the Minister of Health, with the Vice President and the Chief of Staff in copy.
