Kojo Choi, Mona Quartey, Saed Sinare & Harruna Attah among 8 nominated as Ambassadors by President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated eight individuals to serve as Ghana’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners to key international missions, following formal consultations with the Council of State. 

The announcement, detailed in a letter dated July 21, 2025, and signed by Callistus Mahama, Ph.D., Secretary to the President, underscores Ghana’s commitment to advancing its foreign policy and deepening bilateral ties.

The nominees, set to represent Ghana in strategic diplomatic postings, include Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah for the Republic of Namibia, Kojo Choi for the Republic of South Korea, Dr. Kwame Ampofo for Hungary, Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey for the Italian Republic, Magnus Kofi Amoatey for the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenneth Akibate for Burkina Faso, Said Saleh Sinare for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Paul Evans Aidoo for the Republic of Kenya.

Additionally, Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow has been designated to replace Mrs. Satirich Dorcas Ocran as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Vatican City State.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry has been directed to undertake all necessary steps to finalize the appointment process. According to the presidency, these appointments are poised to enhance Ghana’s bilateral cooperation, promote trade and cultural exchanges, and strengthen the nation’s global presence.

The nominations reflect President Mahama’s strategic vision to position Ghana as a key player in international diplomacy, fostering partnerships that drive economic growth and cultural collaboration. The appointees are expected to assume their roles pending parliamentary approval and completion of diplomatic formalities.
