Kwasi Osei Ofori-Attah, a social commentator is pushing for a debate between Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, wife of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-ddo and Mrs. Lordina Mahama, wife of former president and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, ahead of the 2020 elections.
BestNewsGH.com reports him as saying it is imperative to organize debates for persons desirous of becoming the country’s first lady because they fall on funds from the public purse to undertake the various projects they carry out to compliment their husbands.
In a post on his social media handle cited by BestNewsGH.com, Mr. Osei Ofori-Attah averred that “Before we vote this year eh, we must insist on a debate for spouses of presidential candidates. We must know what they intend to do with the surplus of our taxes”.
He insists that each of them must come up with a policy direction and be prepared to debate and justify that policy direction to the letter.
