Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that he will not be an armed chair president who will sit in the office and rely on information being fed him by appointees.
According to him, the president is bent on getting onto the field to ascertain the impact of government policies on the generality of the Ghanaian people and to fashion strategies that will enhance the living standards of the people.
The Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi constituency in the Eastern Region said the president who is due to begin a tour of the Greater Accra Region tomorrow Tuesday December 4 2018 will visit sites of ongoing projects in the region and to also interact with chiefs and people in the region.
He said the president through his tour of the various regions in the country is fulfilling a promise he made in 2017 that he will not be an armed chair president, but will be on ground to appreciate the needs of the people.
‘’Just like the president said, he will not sit in Accra for people to come and tell him, when you sleep, sleep, everything is ok. And so just like he mentioned in 2017, toured all the 10 regions. In 2018 too he will tour all the 10 regions again and will commission and cut sod for various projects’’ he said.
