The long held myth that the Zongo communities are a no go area for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been broken with the huge numbers voting for the party in each election.
This is according to the Deputy Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator of the party, Hajia Rabi Anyass who spoke to BestNewsGH.com on the sidelines of the regional Nasara rally in Tamale on Saturday, January, 25, 2020.
BestNewsGH.com confirms Hajia Rabi as saying that “the opposition NDC is always claiming the Zongo as their stronghold but recent results from these communities prove that we are taking over. We have proven to the people that an NPP government is not discriminatory against them as we have implemented ground breaking interventions in the Zongo communities”.
Hajia Rabi who initiated the regional rally to re-energize the party base, told BestNewsGH.com that the Ministry of Zongo and Inner Cities Development as well as the establishment of the Zongo Development Fund are examples of how committed the NPP is, to the development of the Zongo communities.
She added that “we don’t just talk about how committed we are to developing the Zongo communities but we act. We have shown with our programs that we really want to develop them”.
She appealed to the residents of Zongos to put their trust in the NPP government to deliver the needed transformation for their communities.
