The Wave of Love: A Poem by Danaa Abdul-Samad

THE WAVE OF LOVE

Days begin with whirlwinds

With clouds of thoughts

Dazed minds bow to emotions

Like butterfly wings, eyelashes

Flap and flop to gliding torrents of relief

While throbs aroused by Cupid’s arrow

Turn to musical notes of drumming

And sobs sing vocals of a caged heart.

I am enigma

I creep with thrills of ardour

And cling with sinews of candour

Like a burst of magma

I am climax

With lips on lips and thrusts

That drift into explosive tingling sensations

I’m love, I’m a wave!
