A son of renowned Pentecostal Pastor and Founder of Alive Chapel International, Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako was on Saturday October 12, 2024 involved in a very fatal car accident which claimed the lives of two women in the East Legon area, in Accra.
The 16-year-old son of the Bishop, Elrad Amoako who is an unlicensed driver was said to be driving a white Jaguar Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) belonging to his mother when the accident happened a few metres away from the Omama Shop in East Legon.
It has been confirmed that while a party which had been thrown by the renowned Bishop for his elderly son, who had turned 25 was ongoing, the young Amoako got the keys to the car from his mother to purchase some items for the event, accompanied by his friend.
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera footages obtained on the incident, showed the vehicle was speeding wildly and carelessly, leading to a loss of control at an intersection, running into a parked Honda Acura vehicle with the two women, believed to be mothers, as the occupants.
When the vehicle head-collided with the stationary Acura, the Acura hit a wooden electric pole, causing wires to fall on it, sparking a fire instantly.
Trapped in the vehicle, the two unidentified women were burnt beyond recognition, while Junior Amoako and his friend survived and are currently receiving treatment at a health facility.
Before Emergency services could arrive at the scene, the victims had succumbed to the intensity of the inferno.
Bishop Amoako is yet to publicly comment on the incident, even though sources have it that he is deeply devastated about it.
Security Agencies have launched investigations into the accident, with charges pending against Bishop Amoako’s son.
